‘A wild void appeared’: Couple playing Pokémon Go on train tracks end up catching a rare Pokémon in the shape of a sweet furry kitten

When we were kids, we all loved the idea of living in Ash Ketchum's world, traveling and looking for rare and magnificent Pokémons to catch.

There are plenty of fictional worlds we would be happy to move to, but something about the Pokémon world feels extra special. So when we were introduced to Pokémon Go, we finally got a chance to experience what it would be like to actually become a Pokémon Master. 

I remember that crazy summer when every kid in town tried to catch them all. We would go out every day and spend hours wandering outside in search of Pokémons we needed to catch to complete our collection. Some locations had hundreds of kids and teens fighting over gyms and waiting for cool Pokémons to appear. We walked for hours to add to our step count and discovered new areas in the town we grew up in thanks to this silly mobile game.

Admittedly, I haven't really played Pokémon Go again since that one summer, but some devoted fans kept the flame alive and are still heading out into the streets with their phones in hand and a dream to catch them all. Who knew that for some people, that dream would become a very real, and very fluffy, reality?

When the couple below decided to go out for a nice session of Pokémon Go, they never expected to return home with a live and extremely awwdorable Pokémon in the shape of a small, black kitten. The little guy followed them home and happily invited himself inside, so the couple felt like they had no choice but to accept this wild void in and welcome this sweet Pokémon into their family.

  • "Found this cat while playing Pokemon Go. He followed us the 0.5 miles back home. I've never had a black cat.. I trip about 6x more than ever now. It's been two days.. Already climbed in a heat vent. Surely a kitten this well adjusted wasn't born of a feral cat. Someone had to have dropped him off on the train tracks. I was hoping for one of those scenes where one after another appear.

  • Underneathmytoes OP We haven't chosen a name. I want something kind of meaningful. My boyfriend is not ... very creative at naming animals and would call it something like Blackie. I'm open to suggestions.

  • Underneathmytoes OP He is very soft and shiny. Doesn't mind me clipping his nails or bathing. He's so bold and didn't hide at all once brought inside. He constantly purrs, but I'm pretty sure that's just a kitten thing. He spawned out of no where and followed us the whole way back crying the entire way. I feel super lucky that he's such a laid back cat!

  • I never got the chance to catch an actual Pokémon, but if you think about it, every fluffy and heartwarming creature out there can become one. Every animal has unique traits, some of which are not so different from the Pokémons we know and love. Sure, no animal can strike you with a bolt of lightning, but maybe that is for the better. Instead, we get to cuddle with fluffy felines and enjoy beautiful walks outside with our delightful doggos. And if you're still very eager to have a Pikachu of your own, well, Halloween is just around the corner, so you can always get creative with your hissterical furriend's costume.

    If this couple has inspired you to download the Pokémon Go app, just make sure you look around when you're out in the real world, just in case there are any wild kittens out there who may need a helping hand. They deserve a family, a home, and someone who won't ever leave them behind. You don't even need a Pokéball, just throw a pspsps their way, and they will come to you (hopefully, I can't promise anything).
